Frequently Asked Questions
Do your products test in rated competitions?
No formula manufactured by Perfect Products, LLC contains any prohibited substances. None of the ingredients we use are on any FEI, USEF, or AQHA prohibited substances lists. Therefore you can use any of our products with the assurance that they will not make you subject for a positive drug screen.
Why aren't your products available in pelleted form?
While pelleted supplements appear to be beneficial to the horse, they are accompanied by a number of unforeseen drawbacks. In order to make a pelleted supplement, significant fillers must be added, and the very act of making a pellet requires heat and pressure processing. When heat or processing is added to any bioactive ingredient or mineral, efficacy is greatly diminished, and it becomes difficult to predict how much benefit the horse is receiving from the completed ingredient.
Why aren't your products available through prepackaged daily dose supplementation?
All of our paste products are available through single dose serving providers. However, because we consider ourselves suppliers to high-level performance horsemen, we realize that the needs of horses competing at the very top levels of their sport change from day to day, and a prescribed, pre-ordered pre-dose packet may not offer enough of the needed supplement on a given day. We offer flexible dosing, and designed our products to be administered in an increased dose on a competition day, and be given at a reduced level on an off day.
Why do you make so many different calming products?
We recognize that each horse is an individual, and may have different needs from day to day. Our priority is to offer high level riders all the tools he needs to achieve a perfect performance with each horse, and our line of calming products allows the rider to create a custom combination of formulas depending on their horse’s specific needs.
How does the Training Day Booster compare to Perfect Prep Extreme EQ™?
Training Day formula stabilizes the horse's metabolism, while the Extreme really works on the intense excitability that generates adrenalin. The Training Day Booster is roughly the same formula as Training Day Powder, and is used at an event to “boost” the effect of Training Day Powder. The Extreme is a much different formula that is designed to provide profound quieting response in a precisely timed manner.
GastroEase EQ™
How does GastroEase EQ™ compare to another product such as SmartPak's Smart Digest® Ultra, which also claims to target the entire digestive tract?
The GastroEase formula is the complete product for managing your horse's GI tract both at home and at competitions. Other competitors don't approach our formulations. GastroEase includes ulcer and tissue healing components, plus a host of tissue regenerating and digestive enhancing components that make it the most complete and effective product on the market. GastroEase also includes a high level of equine specific probiotics that provide support for the sensitive gastro-intestinal flora level that is so essential in potentiating digestion. Please see our ingredient comparison chart for more information.
